arch/FORM were approached to provide a design for a detached garage conversion in Ashby de la Zouch.
The design brief included the retention of as much of the existing garage space as practicable, while providing a separate entrance to a first floor bedroom with en-suite facilities.
The elevations were designed in such a way as to blend with the main house, using matching and complementary materials, while the interior was kept light and neutral in tone to maximise the effect of the dormer window and roof lights.
We received planning permission for this project in December 2022 following negotiations with the local planning authority on behalf of the client and have completed the technical design, achieving Building Regulations Plans Approval ready to begin on site in 2023.
